Boom!

I am not sure whether it was grit and determination or the extra aggro from the office but I knocked today's run out of the park! (I don't convince myself when I talk like that either!).

I knocked 0:43 secs off my pace from the past couple of runs and felt great for it. I nearly had a few wobbles with breathing etc but I ran through it to continue and I feel great as a result. I had two solid long runs tonight and again the encouragement of the coach was key to driving me further.

I need to focus on the energy and the determination of this one to drive me forward in future runs. I know I can do it!

Thanks to Cuelin, Wai and Enda for the cheers and the encouragement. I needed it this evening.

I've changed my route too, it's now two loops of the park, one large and one inner loop. It's great as I get to stay slow for the warm up/cool down at one end and use the rest for the run. It leaves it much easier to read my progress on the heat map as you can see here:

Question: I'm thinking of getting a new pair of trainers so that I have a pair I can break in before the 10K in November. I am thinking of getting some Nikes but am not sure which ones are best for my overpronating. Anyone got and ideas? I am currently running on Asics GT 2170's which I love but I wanna try some other to see how I get on.

Please remember I would love your encouragement to run better, faster and further and you can do this by sponsoring me on my first 10K for Alzheimer's Society in November. Anything you can offer towards this great charity would be a tremendous boost to me and too them.

Talking of charitable boosts my company has matched my first £250 therefore that's another £250 to add to my current total. Excellent 🙂

Most motivating song during this run: Janelle Monae Tightrope

  1. I suggest going to Nike Town at Oxford Circus, who should be able to recommend trainers for over-pronation. Neither Anto or I was sure which would be best for you.
