London grime

Whilst in London yesterday I noticed some new things about the city, and some old and some familiar.

It’s interesting to return somewhere you have not been in a while as subjects you may have ignored, suddenly come into focus.

Whilst waiting for my friend to exit a coffee shop on St Martin’s Lane, I noticed this narrow alley which led behind the bars and theatres.

I also noticed the grime and filth that accommodates a busy metropolis.

The lamp was characteristically London street furniture and yet felt like it was out of place in such a modern city.

It was a brief glimpse into the city that I knew I wanted to capture.
