It’s a lovely morning and to be honest I didn’t want to return from my walk today to face another day in the house, sat in front of the computer!
As the light was so nice I headed to the meadow and took some shots of the trees etc.
I then remembered the Photo Assignment set by Ted Forbes at the Art of Photography which is all about capturing and observing available light.
Ted’s assignment recommends completing the assignments indoors. I have done some in the house but thought (as I am lucky enough to be able to go not too far from the house for my daily exercise), that I would use the same technique outside.
Upon reaching the corner of the meadow path the sun was shining through the trees and over the frost laden fields, producing wonderful light and shade on the leaves.
I was going to shoot these in black and white (or convert them) but decided that the bright colours and the tones from the light and the leaves were vibrant so left them as they were. This photo is straight out of the camera.
I took several shots with different exposures using the exposure compensation dial and this is -2 from the original exposure.
I enjoyed this brief exercise whilst on my walk and will look to continue to do more this week (or for as long as I am able).
