Snow* stops play

*or rather ice stops running..

As predicted on Sunday the weather took a turn for the worse and we have had two days of snow showers and freezing temperatures.

As you can see from the photo, the snow isn't very deep but it is a couple layers on top of one another that had laid and frozen in the past two days.

It's very dodgy walking back from the station let alone running on it (its part of my running route). It'd be madness to try and run out there so I have given it a miss today. I probably won't run this week as the temperature is due to drop to -6 therefore I think it'll be a week of heavy ice and missing runs as a consequence.

In situations like this it's better to be safe than sorry.

  1. My rule thus far has been I run outside—I really don’t like the treadmill—unless it’s icy. Because I really really don’t like slipping, falling, and possibly injuring myself. Here’s hoping whatever workout you do end up doing is enjoyable! 😀

    1. I’m not a big fan of the treadmill.

It’s not going to kill me to miss a couple runs. It’s not like it snows here that often!

  2. There is rain coming shortly and then this horrible snow and ice is gone. Hopefully will see the last of it this winter in Colchester.
