To take flight

Tail fin of a grounded BEA Hawker Siddeley Trident aircraft at IWM Duxford, with a bird in free flight and a vapour trail crossing the blue sky above

Whilst visiting IWM Duxford today, Richard and I were sat by the stationary aircraft across from the tarmac when I spotted the shape of the tail of this old BEA Hawker Siddeley Trident and happened to notice the vapour trails above.

By chance, as I was preparing to take the photo, a bird flew into frame and I had the shot I wanted.

A chance moment with the Leica Q2, and exactly the reason why I enjoy photography and staying observant.

Do you prefer to wait for the decisive moment, or work with what’s in front of you?

Thanks for your comment!
