During our visit to the David Aaron Gallery, we were granted access to a unique space that was devoid of an exhibit. The room was completely black, illuminated only by a series of spotlights focused on an empty black plinth, creating a striking atmosphere.
While the gallery staff soon found an artifact for us to photograph, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to experiment with the intriguing lighting conditions. Although I typically shy away from slow-speed shots in low light, I was thrilled with the results of this portrait of Robin.
Using the D-Lux 8, I was able to capture this moment handheld. I particularly love how the image conveys Robin’s gaze directed at me, even as he moves—creating a captivating blend of stillness and motion.
