I had the incredible opportunity to be shortlisted in the @fujifilmuk photography competition, aptly named “Life as You See It.” The anticipation was palpable as I joined other talented photographers in central London for the evening. Our work was beautifully displayed, and we eagerly awaited the announcement of the winner.
I have to admit a level of anxiety though as I could not remember what photo I had submitted! I tried everything and came up with nothing. Even my exports from Lightroom gave no clues.
After working our way through the crowd I saw my photo of a mother and son that I took on Long Beach on Vancouver Island last year.

Although I didn’t take home the top prize, there’s a silver lining: my photograph is now part of FujiFilm’s new campaign. You can find it prominently showcased at the Covent Garden store. The excitement of that evening lingers, and I’m immensely proud of the photo I captured on Long Beach, Vancouver Island.
Fuji were already promoting the new campaign in the window of the Covent Garden store and I managed to capture this video featuring my photograph.
The shortlisted photos and winners will be on display at the Fujfilm House of Photography in London, throughout August.
