Today I visited the Lightroom in London to see the David Hockney exhibition “Bigger and closer not smaller and further away”
I didn’t know what to expect but I was blown away.
You are immersed within his art, his story and process through a 50 minute film narrated by the artist.
The art is rendered and animated in various ways that puts you at the center of the work.
The narrative was informative and entertaining
I truly have never experienced anything like it before.
I’ve been in mixed spirits for a while and found this to be an emotional experience. One I was not expecting.
You can sit, stand, lay or walk around to experience the show. Whatever makes you comfortable.
I watched the film from a bench on the center of the floor then went to the top gallery to look down and watch a repeat of some of the show to witness it from another view.
This chap was truly immersed and comfortable throughout the show.
I couldn’t resist a snap of him.

In the interest of fairness, here’s a selfie I took whilst enjoying the show.

I purposely took very few shots as I wanted to enjoy the show and am so glad I did.
Wonderful. Thank you Mr Hockney.
End bossiness soon.
