I have had my X-T4 a while now and not invested in a second lens. Mainly as they are so expensive.
I have been wanting a prime lens for a while and decided to get a Fujifilm XF 35mm f2 R WR (equivalent 50mm)
I took it out for a test today and am surprised by the capability of the lens.
As it’s 50mm, it’s close to our natural field of view.
I tried some landscapes, a portrait or two and some fast shots to test the lens at f2.
In all cases the lens performed well and I am impressed with it’s capabilities.
It’s a great landscape lens at f11 or f16. A superb portrait lens at f8 and great for close ups.
I think you have to be mindful of the focus point as the f2 is incredibly focussed. Probably best shot at f2.8 and above.
My only criticism is the tiny lens hood you get with it. It does an adequate job but I think you could get more from the lens with a wider hood. There was cloud and harsh winter sun today and I think the camera struggled due to the light being let in by the lens hood.
I am pleased I went for this lens and will look forward to taking it out as my go to lens for my X-T4.
