Fine Art PHOTOGRAPHY?

My original plan was to take a number of shots with the X100T and then take the same shots with the Canon 7 loaded with Fomapan.

I wanted to see how the cameras compared and to use it as a test of the light meter and settings to ensure the Canon 7 was working ok.

I ended up taking quite a few photos with the X100T and was itching to get them loaded on the computer to take a closer look.

I didn’t get to shoot with the Canon 7, I will have to leave that till later in the week.

What I ended up producing were a collection of high contrast black and white photographs of the shells that usually sit on our bathroom shelf!

I really like these and am surprised how simple the set up was to achieve this look.

I often wonder how you define fine art photography and tend to see such still lifes labelled as such, can I call these fine art photos? What’s your definition of a fine art photograph?
