Whilst looking for a photo from Thailand to commemorate VJ Day, I took a fresh look at the photos I captured in Kanchanaburi.
This photo caught my eye and I instantly thought of the title when I noticed the subjects.
Thailand is (or was) full of tourists but lots of them were people of gap years or perennial hippies/hipsters, “off to find themselves”.
I find this interesting as the majority of them travel fully equipped with all the latest technology to be able to capture their travels for their adoring fans on social media.
I think this photograph of a group of such travellers on the train crossing the River Kwai to be quite fitting and one that illustrates the modern world of travel.
