After years of deliberation, anticipation, consideration and chickening out, I finally took the plunge and got hold of a Polaroid SX-70.

I have always loved the look of this SLR and the way it folds to such a compact form.
Given the resurgence of analogue photography and the reintroduction of Polaroid Originals, I decided to hunt around for a decent model.
I was very fortunate to come across the previous owner who was selling this on eBay as he had too many cameras.
I got this great quality version of the SONAR SX-70, two flash strips and the manuals for an absolute steal.
Given the price of the film and the fact you only get 8 shots a pack, I will have to use the SX-70 sparingly!
Of course I had to test the camera and used my usual readily available model, Tilly!
I thought the noise of the focus system and the photo ejection would have frightened her but she didn’t seem bothered by it. In fact she gave me the normal level of contempt when I take another photo of her.

I am really excited to own this SX-70 and thrilled to see my first dark slide and my first photograph develop.
I am sure many more photos will be taken which I will share in due course.
