Halloween Shocker

Tonight's run was a real shocker and I don't think it had much to do with Halloween.

It's my first run since Sunday and it was incredibly windy and cold out tonight. I got out of the house to run just before 6pm and soon realised I had a new obstacle to dodge – trick or treaters. I have never seen so many children out and about and it meant I had to be more alert so as not to run over any little monsters as I raced around corners etc.

Someone was also letting off rockets which was a nuisance as I couldn't see where they were launching from but either the noise or the flash made me jump or lose focus.

It was an ok run. The cold really didn't help. I did put on my compression socks to help warm my muscles but I am not sure they worked. My legs were warm and dry when I got back but my calves seemed very tight!

I got a good 5.6k under my belt though which is ok and I am much happier as its been killing me that I have not been running since the weekend (and due to work and social commitments I won't get back out until Saturday at the earliest).

My pace averaged at 6:51 which is slower than the current norm but it's still ok.

Fastest song tonight was Run Boy Run by Woodkid which I actively sought out on my playlist as I wanted to finish fast and warm tonight. It did the trick!

Now to enjoy a quiet evening with my baby, sat indoors with the lights off ignoring any more trick or treaters who dare to make their way up the drive!
