It's only 8 weeks until I run in the MoRunning 10K in November in Greenwich Park.
As you may know from following my blog that this is my first 10K having only just started to run a couple months ago.
A helpful assistant at my local running shop recommended giving myself a goal of a 10K run and this sounded like a great idea.
My good friend Enda contacted me a while ago about the MoRun and suggested we ran together. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to give myself a target and to run in a friendly race which doesn't take itself too seriously.
Enda planned to run a different 10K last year but was scuppered by a fall and a twisted ankle. He therefore moved his 10K to MoRun when he was feeling better.
This is his video account of last years run. It features his friend John who is joining us this year.
My friend Janice is also joining us so it will be a nice little group taking part.
It's my first 10k (I think I have mentioned that already 🙂 ) and I have chosen to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. You can find out why this is important to me on my sponsorship page.
I know it sounds like I am begging but this is a big deal to me. I haven't ever really been sporty and asking for sponsorship is alien to me.
I have raised just over £1,000 so far and am blown away by the generosity and warmth from my friends, family and ad hoc online supporters. I haven't given myself a total target but it would be great if I could receive more support and sponsorship from you.
You don't have to be a UK resident and sponsorship is completely secure using the Just Giving page I have set up.
Many many thanks to those who have sponsored me already as I am truly truly grateful.
