Sweaty but Bronzed

Following another relaxing day by the pool I decided to go to the gym and put in another run on the dreadmill.

I am not truly sure the recording from my iPhone is correct today as I am sure I put a lot of energy into today's run and added a lot of extra speed and some inclines into it. It took me a while to find my rhythm at the beginning so maybe that counted against me. I'm not sure.

The running seemed as hard as it did when I had my first dreadmill run on Tuesday and I certainly seemed to be sweating just a much. It's probably just as well I am sweating this much on the runs as I have been enjoying three meals a day and all-inclusive so you could make a real glutton of yourself if you wanted.

I remembered to do some cool down stretches today (something I always do at home but forgot to do on Tuesday). This probably accounted for the lousy nights sleep I had Tuesday as my upper torso/arms etc were really sore. Although this was due to the increased amount of swimming I am sure the stretches would have helped.

I also managed to completed another set of laps in the pool today so that's 250m of swimming on top of the run. Not bad for someone on holiday eh?

As you can see from the less than flattering photo of me which I took after the run, I was sweating like a pig. It's another hot day at 32 degrees but I kept going.

I may fit a dreadmill run into my training at home as there is a gym at work I can use. I found today without the ambient external temperature and winds I could breathe easier and managed to sing along to my music quite easily. I am using this as a guide for breathing and pace as I have read that you should be able to hold a conversation whilst training so I think this is a good sign. I also think it’s a great way to focus my attention which may help with those asthmatic cold starts.

Anyway another run completed and a couple more days still in the sun to come. Bring it on…

PS I have white bits (trunk line) and am happy with my level of bronzing 🙂

Fastest song of this run surprisingly was Breathing Space by Pet Shop Boys
