Hot, hot, hot

Where on earth did that heat come from? I know 24 isn’t a patch on what we’ll have in Cyprus next week but boy was that a hot run!

Following all the crap weather, as usual the kids go back to school and the weather perks up!

I enjoyed tonight though. Pushing myself through the run to the end. It was a little tough though. I was dog tired coming home tonight and I think that may have made a difference. I had eaten well today and has stored up enough energy to keep me going (bananas, Soreen fruit loaf bars etc).

Still mustn’t grumble as I enjoyed it and kept going.

I think I may have actually switched off during this run. (Well apart from the section where I thought to myself “I think I have switched off as I am not thinking about anything unrelated to running!”)

It really was a glorious run. Just a shame they can’t all be like that.

I’m going to slowly start increasing my time out by 5 minutes every run or so. This way I am sure I can get to 10k in good time for my sponsored MoRunning run in November.

I’m sure I can do this without any further coaching. As a friend of mine said following a recent unplanned 14k – “Once you get going and pass your usual end point you don’t notice. Other forces take over and you just keep going”. I’m hoping (and am pretty sure) this will be the case.

Please remember to keep your donations coming in for my first 10K. The good people of Alzheimer’s Society and I will be very grateful for your donation.

I’m thinking of taking my running shoes on holiday next week but I don’t want to go all that way and not use them. I haven’t run in hot humid conditions before so I’m not sure I’ll enjoy it. I might be better off leaving my shoes at home whilst we are in Cyprus and simply enjoying the break with my baby. I have a couple days left to decide.

Not long to go now though. 4 days and counting 🙂

Fastest song of this run was Pet Shop Boys – Heart
