As if this wasn’t enough I felt uncomfortable in my work shoes today only to find I had a blister. Not sure it’s the boots as they are really comfy and have been no problem to date – I believe it’s the crap M&S socks that were to blame.
I didn’t let either of the above trouble me and to be honest I needn’t have worried as neither really caused me any problems. My Bridgedale socks do a fantastic job of keeping my feet padded and protected and coupled with my brilliant Asics GT-2170’s I really do believe my feet are in better protection than on my usual day-to-day.
I managed a good solid 30 block in the middle of my run and felt comfortable out on the road with iSmoothRun again. Thankfully I have sorted out the personal kinks in the app and it proved to do a great job at keeping me on pace, informed but not intrusive.
The run seemed to go rather quickly and each 5 minute announcement seemed to come and go really quickly. I amended my route tonight so as to break up the monotony and it seemed to help.
Next stage is to start building up the blocks so I am running longer and longer.
After two iSmoothRun routes I am happy that I don’t need to rely on a coach to tell me what to do – I have simply changed my mindset to that I convince, push and encourage myself to reach the next km, 5 mins or to visualise an end point in the route and use that as a goal – then change when near.
This all seems to be working and I am really pleased with my progress so far.
I am really happy with the run tonight especially as I went out like a light on the train home. Why do Bank Holidays make you so tired?
My fastest song this evening was I Like it There by Prince 🙂
