Having only lived in Colchester for 15 months Richard put our names down to volunteer at the local summer fete. I was a little apprehensive but we showed up this morning and showed willing.
The people there were friendly enough and we set to work helping setting up some marquees for the groups who were exhibiting and selling items at the fete. It was windy today so you needed several hands to pin them down.
We set about helping with a few other bits and pieces and were given a lovely cuppa by the local WI.
It was nice to see another part of Colchester and good to think we have done something to help the local community. Even if it was the Girl Guides and the Scouts. Sadly the Army didn't seem to need our help 😉
The rest of the day was relaxing, we did a spot of gardening and had a late lunch.
Just 9 working days to go until we head off to Cyprus on holiday. I cannot wait.
