Screw you Mit Romney!

Well we waited, we judged, we expected, we worried and we stressed about the opening ceremony. We even had a slagging off by American idiot Mit Romney and you know what? We did ourselves proud last night.

The opening ceremony was absolutely fantastic. No we didn't try to better Beijing. What did we do? We did it our way and in doing so showed we have passion, vision, warmth, humour and humanity.

We showed the world what a fantastic nation the British area. We reminded everyone about our diverse culture, our rich history and our place in the world.

We also had a fantastic amount of tongue in cheek humour Never mind what the Washington Post said about the ceremony, if you don't get our sense occasion or of humour then don't bother watching…

Who else could pull off a parachuting stunt with James Bond and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II? Who else could lampoon one of their greatest sports achievements/motion pictures with the inclusion of Mr Bean?

We are British, we have the capital city of the world and we are proud.

Last night was truly wonderful and I hope this is the start of a fantastic games for London and for the world*

My personal highlight has to be the creation of the cauldron with the Olympic flame – what a truly fantastic specticle.

It will be great to see how social these games are especially as the IOC have such strict rules.
I am happy to have seem lots of joyous photographs from various athletes and spectators last night and I have to note all of this happened on Twitter. It looks like this is one race Facebook cannot compete in.
Best of luck Team GB 🙂
*Ok I admit we could have done without Paul McCartney – sorry about that!
Mit Romney, do you think we're ready now? Oh by the way, we really don't give a damn what you think.
