Time is ticking far too fast

So tonight I went to fast off the mark and I paid for it during my run. I didn’t start as strong as I have before and hit the powersong button before the first long run and Kylies Timebomb came on. Stupidly I decided to not only run in time with the music (I used to be a dancer so I can move like crazy when a song grabs me), but I also decided to try and sing (or mouth) along.

This did two things; it caused me to loose focus on my breathing and gave me leg and (at the end of the run), knee pain which I have not had before. I felt damn stupid as I know that I had shot my pace to bits because I bolted through this session.

I guess you only learn by doing and I must remember this valuable lesson.

I am however back home, in one piece and I managed to run the complete set without too much discomfort really.

It’s a lovely evening here and apart from the winds (which I do struggle running against possibly cause of my asthma), it went really well.

I don’t seem to have broken 4k tonight but looking at the forthcoming runs I imagine that will be cracked soon enough as the length of the runs starts to get much longer from now on.

I am pleased that my running has spurred on some friends too. Angela in work was thinking about taking up running and after I gave her some advice of how I started she has got herself Nike+ and the Couch to 5k app and is doing really well. It’s just a shame the friend feature is currently offline on Nike+.

Richard has also decided to take up some extra activity and has purchased h itself a bicycle – this arrives tomorrow.

Now I wonder if we can get Brandy Cat to come out running/cycling with us?

Does anyone know if the Nike+ app update is coming soon cause I also noticed my route info is not being saved in the app 😦
