Impromptu “lunch” leads to odd local dish being consumed by hungry pack of tourists!

Wellt hat’s what happened. We stopped in for tea and cake and were struck by how big the place was, how popular it seemed (we had acquired the only table that wasn’t booked) and how nice the food smelt.

It seems in Shropshire it’s normal to serve a chunk of meat in a buttered sandwich with gravy, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. And that’s exactly what three of the four of us had to eat and it was delicious.

Our veggie friend had a home made quiche which he reckoned was equally stunning but I never trusts the word the a vegetarian! LOL

If you find yourself wandering Wenlock Edge then head into Much Wenlock and have a bite in the the Copper Kettle – but maybe book ahead so you don’t get turned way.
